CELEBRATE IN BRITANNIA VILLAGE

This summer, Sea to Sky Gallery and Britannia Village will be hosting a weekly art walk based on the legendary Playa del Carmen CaminArte. Beginning June 25th, local artists and creators will set up throughout the village each Thursday from 2pm to 9pm allowing art lovers and visitors to take in the works on display at their own pace, interacting with the artists and enjoying the unique Britannia Village historic setting where Howe Sound meets the Coast Mountains. Britannia Village was profiled in a CBC News segment about the decades-long revitalization effort which has brought life to the Britannia Mine townsite some 50 years after the mine closed. On May 5th, Heritage BC announced the recipients of the 2026 Heritage BC Awards, recognizing outstanding achievements in heritage conservation, education, leadership, and community impact across the province. Britannia Village and Macdonald Communities were honoured to be named a recipient of an “Outstanding Conservation Award” for the years-long project to revitalize the historic company town on the original Britannia Mine townsite.
